Linnea Henriksson

A lot has happened since Linnea Henriksson had her big breakthrough in the beginning of the 2010s. Today, she no doubt stands as one of Sweden’s most highly regarded artists with a considerable output, releasing three solo albums and a Christmas EP, whilst hosting numerous popular Swedish televised shows (e.g. Eurovision Song Contest) and being the recipient of several notable music awards. As a songwriter and producer, Linnea creates emotional and ”everyday” relatable songs that go straight to your heart, and as a live performer she knocks her audience out with an authenticity and energy like no other.

Outside of her musical career, Linnea Henriksson is committed to working towards a more gender balanced and representative music industry. As a dedicated feminist, she has been active in various positions for more than 13 years, in organisations and associations that are working towards these goals. In collaboration with Swedish company Spotify, she worked together on their investment for an equal music industry, resulting in the podcast Equalizer. For three seasons, Linnea hosted Equalizer, which interviewed professional women who were music creators. To influence and advocate from her platform to create awareness and ”create debate” around gender in the music industry is self-evident, and comes naturally to Linnea.

Linnea Henriksson: "First it was about making them hear that I could sing. Then it was making them see that I could write songs. And then it was making them understand I could produce. Express yourself in a nice tone and always be grateful! Step by step and never too much. Never be too much. Da Capo.

Sometimes I think about all the music me and many others could have created if we, instead of spending our time on proving ourselves worthy, could have spent on making music instead. All these obstacles before you have even entered the rooms. All the these gazes exchanged in these rooms before we were even accepted as competent and gained the titles we already had in practice, but seldom on paper. I am a proud ambassador of Keychange. Because I love music. And I want more!"
