What can I do as an individual?

There are numerous things you can do as an individual for a gender balanced music industry. Here are some small tips on the road.

1. Gender balance your consumption

As a music consumer you can prioritise gender balanced playlists and share them with your friends. You can make sure to attend festivals and concert houses that have signed The Keychange Pledge, and you can tell your friends to do the same.

2. Update your gender knowledge

Equality is quality and better representation equals better music. Read up on why women and gender expansive peope face barriers in the music industry and get to know the music business from a working perspective.

3. Nominate for gender balance

Do you know someone who should be a part of the Keychange Programme? Is your favourite festival still not gender balanced? Is there a public figure who would make the perfect Keychange Ambassador? Take action and nominate!

4. attend a keychange event

The Keychange talents participate at some of the most cutting-edge international music festivals in Europe and Canada. The Keychange Team also participate on panels and conferences all over the world, as well as online. Experience great music, discover new ideas and express your opinions at our events!

5. Follow us on socials

At Facebook and Instagram we present our Keychange talent, give you insights of the alarming statistics in the music industry as well as provide you with tips and valuable information for all industry workers. At SoundCloud and Spotify we have created the best playlists with our talents and Ambassadors. Feel free to follow, interact and share!
