Less than 5% of music producers and engineers are women and the team at Abbey Road Studios are determined to play their part in addressing this outdated imbalance. In 2020, Abbey Road Studios launched its Equalise programme, born out of the Studios’ commitment to driving awareness and understanding of music production as a credible and accessible career path for anyone who identifies as a woman. The programme aims to provide basic tools, knowledge and support to inspire and empower more women to enter the industry.

Today Abbey Road Studios announces its first Equalise activity for 2021, in celebration of International Women’s Day. Beginning on 1 March and culminating on 8 March, the Abbey Road Equalise IWD Festival will see a series of online live masterclasses, panel discussions and one-to-one mentoring sessions, led by a number of inspiring women.
