The employment levels of the cultural sector (pre-corona times) has been substantial! Eurostat’s Culture Statistics report found that in 2018, across the EU‑28, there were 8.7 million people in cultural employment (46.1% of which are women). At 3.8% of the working population, and nearly as much as agriculture, forestry and fishing industries – its contributions both financial and cultural enrichment cannot be denied! We mustn’t let the creative industries slip away during these critical times, and if anything, it has shown us how much we rely on arts and culture to see us through these turbulent times.
