Within Live DMA’s report The Survey, Fedelima (France) found that 12% of permanent staff in an artistic programming role at live music venues were women. This is undoubtedly crucial, as like festival programming, venue bookings and curation must look at gender representative programmes. And if this isn’t reflected in the programming staff, it repeatedly reminds us of the importance of representation behind the scenes, especially influential positions in venues such as decision makers bringing acts to their main stage.
