In the Black Lives in Music report: Being Black in the UK Music Industry released, it is noted that there has been a notable rise in ethnically diverse representation amongst 16-24-year-olds, and at entry-level in a space of a couple of years! Whilst gains have been made, it must be remembered that this is not reflected further up in the hierarchy where underrepresentation is stark. It is clear that the talent exists, as does the drive to succeed – it is opportunity which must be given for growth and empowerment to fulfil this potential.
