In keeping up with the pandemic and its impact, we take a look at how this has affected Sweden’s artists. Musikcentrum Riks' survey was answered by 964 musicians and artists, representing breadth in the field (reflecting an estimated sixth of all Swedish musicians and artists from available data). 1/3 of respondents are planning to leave the industry due to the pandemic. Of this, 28% of men and 31% of women said they were considering leaving. This further highlights the trend of the disproportionate impact the pandemic will have on gender minority talent – especially given that women and gender minorities are already underrepresented in the industry!
