Let’s take another look at the Fix the Mix report – this time from a genre angle with popular streamed End-of-Year playlists from Spotify and Apple Music. Metal came last with 0% women and non-binary professionals credited for key technical roles. Out of 14 genres in the report, Electronic came with the highest representation of women and non-binary people in producer roles, accounting for 17.6% - which, although more positive, is still a depressing figure and a long way from gender parity.
