The influence of American culture and music is all pervading across the globe. With awards season approaching in spring, today we look at the Grammys. Statista found that between 2013 and 2020, only 11.7% of artists nominated for Grammy awards were female (88.3% were male). Interestingly, “[t]he share of nominated women in 2020 was far higher than usual at 20.5 percent, which drove up the average and took the share of men nominated for a Grammy below 80 percent for the first time since the source began investigating gender distribution in the industry.”
