“It gives me hope that a movement like Keychange exists. In an industry that has always been dominated by men, from labels to opportunities for musicians, I'm so happy I get to be alive to witness the tides changing as we work towards a world where underrepresented genders are equally heard and celebrated. I embrace this opportunity to learn from everyone championing this important movement and to take part in creating awareness around the importance of equal opportunity.” - Alice Phoebe Lou

Alice Phoebe Lou is a Berlin-based South African singer-songwriter. She has released three EPs and three studio albums. In December 2017 her song "She" from the film Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story was included on the Oscars shortlist for Best Original Song. Alice developed her bluesy, folk sound busking on the streets of Berlin, she has caught the ears of a community of music lovers the world over with her honest storytelling and raw, beautiful voice.

Born in Capetown to documentary filmmakers, who filled their home with the songs of Patti Smith, Cat Power, Portishead and PJ Harvey, Alice fell easily into the creative scene. Some of her favourite early memories are of her mother playing the piano each evening; she studied dance at school for nine years then, aged 16, journeyed to Paris on her own and fell in with a group of street artists who performed outside the Notre Dame.
