Women's Music Event
Women's Music Event (WME) is a music, business and technology platform created to increase women's prominence in the music industry. Conceived by Claudia Assef and Monique Dardenne in 2016, the platform debuted in March 2017 with the WME Conference in São Paulo, attracting more than 1,000 people in debate panels, workshops, concerts and parties. Since then, it has held 5 editions of the WME Conference, with more than 80 hours of digital content and dozens of live shows, panels and workshops, impacting an audience of about 10 million people in its history and generating, every year, around 300 direct and indirect jobs.
In addition to the conference, the annual WME Awards by Music2! takes place since 2017. The award is divided into three fronts: popular vote category, technical vote category and honored for the body of their work. Since 2019, the event has been broadcast on the TNT channel (WarnerMedia Group). In 2020, the WME Awards by Music2! impacted more than 1.2M people on the different platforms of the TNT brand: TV, YouTube and Facebook. Lives on Facebook and YouTube had 93% more views compared to the previous year. In the digital scope, the content related to the award reached more than 18 million impressions.
In 2019, WME launched its WME Professionals Database application. The app is an interactive and more robust version of the desktop WME Professionals Database, an area that already exists on the Women's Music Event website and which brings together profiles of women who work in different areas of the music chain, from the most technical to the most artistic activities. In October 2021, WME launched the IGUAL label, a gender equality verification label for music industry-related events and brands.
