Mogli is a singer and filmmaker from Hamburg who recently rose to indie fame when her movie “Expedition Happiness” about a road trip from Alaska to Mexico became a box office hit in Germany. 150.000 People went to the cinemas to see the documentary that became the most successful documentary of the last few years. She directed, made the soundtrack and released her second album Wanderer at the same time. After her debut album Bird got awarded with the VUT Indie Award for “Best Newcomer”, Wanderer entered the German album charts on #44 without a label in the background. The Inspiration for it came on glaciers in Alaska and in the jungle of Mexico, on mountain peaks and in the desert. Having her piano and guitar on board made it possible to write songs literally in the middle of nowhere. The result is haunting. Some songs incorporate the epic vastness and depth of nature while others are like a window to her inner self. Her melancholic songs are often arranged with bold drums, timbal sounds and choirs, but her folky melodies sometimes only need a Grand Piano. With her fragile yet intense voice Mogli takes you to far away places.
