Alayna Hughes
Alayna was born in Florida and began playing and recording music at the age of 13 and became interested in all of the facts of music technology and production. She attended Full Sail for recording arts and Berklee College of Music for Music Production and Engineering. She has worked at Avatar Studios and Broadway Video in New York. After moving to Valencia to pursue a Masters degree, she worked for Berklee Valencia teaching creative technology. She creates installations and creative projects with her partner under the name Curiosibot which have been shown at Sonar, Tech Open Air, and Maker Faire. The duo opened a creative space in Valencia in 2021. She also performs and creates music under the name Communard, which mixes interactive visuals, mixed reality, and electronic music. Aside from co-running the space, she is currently a full time PhD Student in the Music Technology Group at the UPF studying the use of VR and adaptive music for stress.
