Today we head a little north to Sweden and take a look at Skap’s report ‘Jag gör inte world, jag gör pop’. The study digs deep into the societal and structural racism. Non-white interviewees within the report express their experiences and consequences of racism in the music industry and working conditions, throwing up many questions around structural inequality. And what happens if you are already championing diversity, what more are you doing beyond the point of getting people through the door? Whether you’re talking about gender, race or other underrepresented intersections, all roads must lead to inclusion which correlates directly to belonging and retention of talent. It is importance to distinguish inclusion as a force to AVOID tokenism.
What does inclusion mean to you and in your country and language contexts?
