It goes without saying that the need for funding is more important than ever before. In their new report “Moving More Money to the Drivers of Change: How Bilateral and Multilateral Funders Can Resource Feminist Movements”, AWID and Mama Cash (with Count Me In!) look at funding practices in this context. They found that once it trickles down, direct funding to women’s rights organisations for gender focused aid stood at just 1%! So, it brings to debate not only funds that are available, but also how these funds move and how they are being dispensed needs to change!
