We have a follow up stat for you from the Keychange 2024 report ‘Study on gender diversity in the German music market’ from Reeperbahn Festival. Although positively in the majority, we were surprised that the figure on the essentials of childcare support for an equitable industry wasn’t higher. Whilst all genders are affected by childcare to varying degrees, it is the slow down and/or drop off of women as it becomes a matter of career progression versus parenthood - attributed to lack of support on an all-pervasive level, whether artist or industry professional.
