Friday Figures - 26 May
Two years on from the ground-breaking Time to Act report, British Council has commissioned On the Move - to conduct a follow-up report looking further into the knowledge gaps in the cultural sector that contribute towards inequalities for disabled artists and audiences. With data-led insights, whether we are talking about knowledge of disabled artists and effective outreach, it also speaks to making strides in diversifying who is doing the programming, who is being consulted in the curation, what attempts are being made. There may be a significant increase in expression and desire to have more works by artists with disabilities in the cultural sector, but the challenges remain. We also want to note the regional variations across Europe which highlights the differing cultural approaches. There is so much more to the report that a small caption cannot do it justice, so please read the full report which you can access here.
