Gender breakdowns in job roles are still striking (and as we have seen recently with gender pay gaps in the music industry in the UK, it doesn’t stop there). It’s worth also observing statistics that show differences between geographies in the same work area. Today we take a look at a couple of territories and staff in live music venues. As the Live DMA Survey Report highlights “Two studies from our members in France (FEDELIMA) and The Netherlands (VNPF) give more insights about the repartition of female/male workers in their music venues”. First, we take a look at France where it found that 63% of permanent staff employed in a production role at live music venues were women.
