Friday Figures - 30 Sep
Seeing as we’re at BreakOut West this week, we thought it would be fitting to share some statistics from Canada. The purpose of this year’s report ‘Closing the Gap’ from the Canadian Live Music Association is to provide evidence on the nature of inequalities experienced by IBPOC live music workers, and actionable policy recommendations that can in turn help to close the gap in representation and inequitable experiences in the live music community that vary along lines of race and ethnicity.
We also realise that the numbers are something we are all too familiar with across the world, no doubt impact women and gender minority artists and workers harder, and how the inequalities and discrimination when considering other intersections in addition to gender, remain as prevalent as ever.
