Whilst access issues are crucial for audiences and artists alike, so is the programming of disabled artists into festivals, venues and events of their artistic works. The lack of visibility in programming feeds into the overall lack of knowledge and undertsanding of disabled artists. Commissioned by the British Council, the On the Move report ‘Time to Act’ looks closely at the performing arts and cultural sector across Europe. From access needs, programming to ticketing, cultural practice and more, the report also addresses recommendations and solutions vital to understand the barriers in order to remove them.
