Continuing the leadership theme, in their research for the Harvard Business Review, Jack Zenger and Joseph Folkman found that “women scored at a statistically significantly higher level than men on the vast majority of leadership competencies we measured.” In fact, women were thought to be more effective in 84% of the competencies used to frequently measure this! It is no secret that it is lack of opportunity and access, and not lack of skill and competence, that women and gender minorities face in the climb to leadership positions. We can and must do better for gender parity at all levels.
