Where career progression and seniority is concerned, age plays a part when it comes to women dropping off or slowing down in their careers which isn’t just restricted to parenthood and care. UK Music’s Diversity Report 2022 has become indispensable in the breadth of topics covered in the survey. This includes collating data relating to women and menstruating people experiencing the menopause in the industry. Potential impact on their careers include “reduced their hours, moved to part-time, stepped back from senior roles, left their job, not applied for a promotion and not taken a promotion offered. Some have retired early.”
