When we say we want to see gender parity across the music industry – we mean it, including radio! The latest report from the Why Not Her? Collective, 2022 UK Gender/Racial Disparity Data Report on UK shows this gender gap is as apparent as ever. If you don’t have gender diversity in broadcasting decision making levels, presenters etc, how can we ever expect it to filter down to what the listener hears? Radio consumption remains significantly high (41 million 15+ year old in the UK!) and therefore content must be considered and reflective of society.
