When considering a different genre, say electronic music in a live music context, the gender disparity continues to be pronounced. Given Keychange’s manifesto and pledge perspective, this is central to addressing the gender balance in the music industry which must be reflected in what we see and hear on the main stage. In a breakdown of gender in line ups at electronic music festivals globally, the @femalepressure_official FACTS survey found that from 2012 to 2019 overall, 74.0% of all acts were male, 17.3% of acts were female, 6.9% were mixed acts, and 1.5% as unidentified [i.e., acts where the gender could not be identified].
We encourage you to read the full findings here.
