All intersectional considerations need to be made when looking at gender equity. The health and well-being of staff has to remain the priority. Creating safer work practices and protections only serve positively for all. Being comfortable to disclose disabilities, and companies making the adjustments in the workplace as needed, serves for the betterment and accessibility for ALL. UK Music’s latest Diversity Report survey additionally incorporates neurodiversity to the disability question rather than have them as separate questions as in previous surveys. This reminds us that government and official definitions, research and data collection evolve over time which regular surveys and reports continue to reflect.
