Friday Figures - 25 Aug

As we are in Montréal this week, let’s take another look at ‘Closing the Gap’ from the Canadian Live Music Association. This focuses on Indigenous, Black and people of colour (IBPOC) in the live music industry. We see on the slides, the compounding effects of the pay gap beyond gender. Additionally, “By contrast, 71% of white respondents report being able to work full-time in the music industry. Related, Indigenous (30%) and Black (29%) workers most frequently report being paid less than someone else with the same qualifications; none (0%) of the white survey respondents reported being paid less than equally qualified counterparts.”

We continue to advocate for pay transparency and a safe, inclusive workplace for all.
