Following on from the previous figure, Milan Music Week panel on gender diversity also found some positive trend amongst younger artists (below 30) represented in the Italian music charts, where the ratio of women:men increased in previous years. Of course, there are also limitations in the study itself - the statistics do not cover gender representation in music industry professionals e.g. at labels, festivals, publishers etc, and what this looks like at all levels of the hierarchy, filtered down from CEO/MD and onwards. The insight into other gender minority representation is also lacking – something we hope to see evolve in future reporting!
