You know how much we love a new report – comparative analysis and statistics are indicators and drivers for areas of change. The latest report from Why Not Her? does just that. The Gender Disparity Data Report 2022 provides an insightful analysis on Irish radio data, giving us some revealing statistics, frustrating yet unsurprising, but also some more positive aspects. The issues remain when we look at the Top 100 radio airplay where gender representation remains significantly low for women and gender minority artists (and that’s before we even scratch the surface with other intersections).
