Resources for Funding in Music & Cultural Industries

Today, we have gathered some world-wide and local funding resources for individual artists and cultural organisations alike (and a reminder that during war time, it becomes increasingly necessary to financially support artistic work). Of course, deadlines come and go, so we would keep an eye on potential funds in general for future open calls and applications.

On The Move

Providing extensive geographical resources, On The Move have produced over 60 national and regional mobility funding guides. Explore more than 2000 grants, scholarships, residencies, and other opportunities to get moving. Some guides are updated once every one or two years, while others are revised when the opportunity arises for a partnership with a local organisation. The contents focus on permanent or ongoing funding schemes and programmes.

MusicAIRE

MusicAIRE aims to assist the recovery of the Music Sector by designing and testing a support scheme that can meet the challenges posed by the pandemic while fostering the sustainability of the ecosystem. The action, supported by the Creative Europe Programme, intends to develop further the Music Moves Europe initiative and contributes to green, digital, and just and resilient recovery.

A second open call is expected in autumn 2022!

Danish Arts Foundation

The Danish Arts Foundation promotes Danish art internationally, and to pave the way for talented artists. Through more than 60 different funding programmes, it funds the production and promotion of visual arts, film, literature, music, performing arts, architecture, crafts, and design – and all that transcends the borders of these art forms. Foreign artists may apply for funding for artwork or project through the international funding programmes.

Music Board Berlin

Musicboard’s funding programmes support Berlin’s pop-music scene, serving to strengthen its cultural, creative and economic standing. Through calls for concepts and subsequent jury-based selection procedures, the thematically diverse programmes fund musicians directly as well as various projects in the city’s music landscape producing innovative, diverse and relevant content.

Music Export Ukraine

Ukrainian music talents invested time and efforts in their art for dozens of years. Music is the unified language around the globe and deserves to be protected. It remains a powerful soft power tool and an integral part of cultural diplomacy during the war. With this support programme we want to provide the financial help to Ukrainian artists, so they could continue working and be represented internationally.
