At our second network meet-up at Reeperbahn Festival this year, we were honoured to present the latest Keychange Inspiration Award to rapper Ebow. Focussed on themes of social criticism and justice, queerness and feminism, Ebow’s standout work takes an intersectional approach which naturally aligns with our ethos and values.

Born in Munich in 1990, Ebow first gained attention through guerrilla performances in Munich's station district. A self-produced, half-hour mixtape video brought her to the attention of the radio station Puls and invited her to be a candidate for the format Startrampe. This was followed by her first record with Disko B, where her first self-titled album was released. In the meantime Ebow has released four albums which thematically combine social criticism, queerness and feminism. Her last album entitled “Canê” was released on her own music label Alvozay, which she founded in 2020. At Alvozay label, she organised a music festival in 2020 and filmed a short documentary together with Arte under the format Square, a short documentary on the topic of "Safer Spaces in Club Culture". She also manages other new female artists together with her label mate Tmnit Ghide. Ebow is also part of the musical collective Gaddafi Gals, with whom she released her second studio album in 2022.
