Eliza Reid

First Lady of Iceland, Eliza Reid, also the Co-Founder of Iceland Writers Retreat, an annual one-week international event for writers held in Reykjavik. A patron of several organisations in Iceland, (United Nations Association Iceland as well as Goodwill Ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages Iceland), Eliza is a notable force and vocal advocate for women's rights and gender parity.

Equality does not happen of its own accord, with some social media likes or shares, or with well-intentioned phrases. It takes concerted and sustained effort, a commitment to fight complacency.
