Oslo Quartet Series
Oslo Quartet Series is an important communicator of the string quartet and its vast repertoire, presenting it to a wider audience. Oslo Quartet Series wishes to facilitate a framework for its concerts where the artistic content is communicated innovatively to provide the audience with a unique concert experience. The concert series was founded in 2012 as a collaboration between three of the most established Norwegian string quartets; Engegård Quartet, Oslo String Quartet and Vertavo, who also represent the concert series' artistic board. The three quartets are fixed quartets for the concert series, who together with renowned international string quartets constitutes the Oslo Quartet Series season programme.
Oslo Quartet Series is also a keen promoter of new music programmed alongside more traditional, classical repertoire. All their commissions are published in the series ‘Oslo Quartet Series Edition’ – a series of scores with new music for string quartets, that is distributed amongst both international and Norwegian quartets with the aim to give the pieces many performances as widely spread as possible.
