Melina Rathjen

Melina grew up in Germany and lived for 10 years in Hamburg, where she worked for many years in the University Library, before starting to study Cultural and Media Management. For this study, she did an internship at Iceland Music Export in 2013. During that time she decided to stay in Iceland, and received an offer to work with Iceland Airwaves Music Festival, moving on to work for Sonar Festival in Reykjavík, followed by Copenhagen and the Secret Solstice Festival. Additionally, Melina always maintained other projects, working for Sofar Sounds, organising singer/songwriter festival Melodica Festival, working for the label Bedroom Community to organise an arts festival Breiðholt Festival and supporting several musicians with booking gigs or connecting them with the music industry. In 2017 Melina started to manage a Belgian band called Illuminine, as well as working for a company called Iceland Sync, where she started as the sync manager, but is now also work as the artist manager, taking care of international management.
