Friday Figures - 27 Oct

As we are in BIME this week, let’s take a look at an updated MIM Association / Asociación MIM (Mujeres de la Industria de la Música) report (Mar 2021). Aside from the usual predictable pay gaps that persist, we take a look at the leadership question. Whilst four sectoral associations of the music industry (APM, ARTE, AEDEM and PROMUSICAE), the presidential positions fared better (37% women compared to 63% men) the independent sector does poorly (14% women), with the major labels having zero women in the presidential positions. We also looked it up to see if things had changed since the report with the majors - no, they haven’t.
