shesaid.so and Keychange relaunch we.grow mentoring programme

- Call-out for experienced mentors in the music industry

- Keychange participants invited to join extended mentoring programme for extra support in response to the pandemic

Following a successful online peer-to-peer we.grow mentoring programme in 2020 (read more here), shesaid.so and keychange have relaunched the we.grow mentoring programme, which will run June 2021 - September 2021. Recognising the need for more traditional mentoring to help guide Keychange participants through this difficult time, today shesaid.so and Keychange launch a call-out for senior music industry professionals and artists to volunteer as mentors for the Keychange participants. The mentors must have a minimum of 7 years experience in the music industry, and will be paired with one of the exceptional, hand-picked Keychange participants all chosen as the leaders of tomorrow by a panel of international industry experts.

If you would like to volunteer to be a we.grow mentor, apply here. We welcome applications from all genders, all backgrounds, and all countries.

we.grow aims to address a trend of growing concern in the music industry - women and gender minorities not showing the confidence they need in order to fulfil their career goals; and a lack of senior role models. This project seeks to explore some of the drivers of this trend and to equip participants to address any challenges they may face. A key part of this is ensuring that women and gender minorities from all backgrounds have the opportunity to meet, learn and be motivated by positive role models.

About shesaid.so

shesaid.so is a global community of women and gender minorities in the music industry. Established in London at the end of 2014, shesaid.so has grown to encompass close to 12,000 members around the world across 18 chapters such as London, New York, France, Spain, South Africa, Mumbai and more. Our international community consists of women and gender minorities for all sectors of the music industry: from record labels, artist management companies, booking agencies through to technology platforms, creative agencies, composers, artists and more. Our work is solutions-focused and lobbies for a more diverse, inclusive and equal music industry. We organize and curate discussions that raise awareness about diversity-related issues as well as other areas such as mental health, social mobility, education, and the future of the music business. Our projects include research, social media campaigns, mentoring programs and partnerships with the music, tech and creative industries. In 2019, we launched our annual female-first, music-forward conference MEETSSS which aims to explore and inspire the music business through a female lens. To find out more, head to www.shesaid.so
