The ABC of Creative Europe from Fiona Deuss-Frandi
If you missed our Q&A with Fiona Deuss-Frandi (EACEA) on International Women’s Day, we have collated some main points and resources around funding projects from Creative Europe for you! Thank you to Fiona for demystifying the daunting process of navigating the unlocking of funds with these tips and resources:
1. Learn about the programme
Creative Europe is dedicated to the diversity and competitiveness of the culture sector. Many projects have been supported already, which can inspire you. Browse the Project Results Database here or the brochure on Music here to learn about them and get in touch with past grantees!
2. Meet your partners
At the core of Creative Europe is the cooperation between your organisation and others. Before entering a formal partnership with money attached, meet in person or online and discuss details of what you want to do together. If possible, collaborate on a pilot event to see what works well or not.]
3. Get help
Funding from Creative Europe is competitive and can be intimidating. Policy priorities, technical requirements, formal language… contact the Creative Europe Desk in your country for help which you can find here! The Desks exist specifically to support applicants in this process – for free!
4. It’s easier than you think
You might have heard that European funding is tricky, with long procedures and lots of administration. What might have been true before is changing: The Agency managing the projects is evolving with the funding and administration has become easier. And you will get support from your grant officer.
5. Be Bold!
This is probably the most important tip. Creative Europe is there for out-of-the-box projects, for bold ideas and bright thinking. Dare to develop a vision and imagine what the best outcome should be – that’s what this funding is about.
