Lorena Jiménez

With the showcase festival season hurtling by, we take a pause to acknowledge one of our latest Keychange Inspiration Award recipients, Lorena Jiménez. Awarded at BIME 2023, Lorena is recognised for founding communications agency, La Trinchera and her activism, with gender equity an embedded theme since its inception.

Graduated in journalism from the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija (Madrid), Lorena Jiménez has worked in national headers such as the extinct magazines Tiempo, Interviú, digital media and MTV Magazine. Meanwhile, she spent some time at EICTV, the Film School of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba) studying Documentary Filmmaking.

In 2007 she left the newsroom to start La Trinchera, a communication agency specialized in the music industry. After more than 16 years, La Trinchera has become one of the main communication agencies in the sector, working for numerous record labels, festivals, artists and brands.

Since its inception, Lorena Jiménez has also been a member of MIM (Mujeres de la Industria de la Música), an association that fights for equality in the music industry. She is also one of the driving forces behind the #SOMOSMÚSICA and Alerta Roja movements.

"I am very grateful to have received the Inspirational Keychange award, but it is you who inspire me to keep working and paving the way for those yet to come "
